A former UK Royal Marine, awaiting transfer to the Australian Army, was the worker who fell to his death in a Tasmanian mine.

Sunshine Coast father-of-two Nathaniel Beesley was working as a specialist contractor in Grange Resources' Savage River mine when he died last Friday.

The 32-year-old had toured Afghanistan twice with the Royal Marines, and was working in the mine to make a life for his family on the Coast.
