Crime alert: Mountain Creek

Police from Maroochydore Police Station and the Sunshine Coast Crime Prevention Unit are reminding residents and business owners to lock up after a recent spate of crimes in the Mountain Creek area including break and enters, unlawful use of motor vehicles and stealing from vehicles.

Sergeant Yvette Tarrier from the Sunshine Coast Crime Prevention Unit is reminding the community to adopt basic security habits.

“Please take a moment to take simple safety precautions to check that your property is locked and secured, especially during the Easter holiday break,” Sergeant Tarrier said.

Areas targeted over the last couple of weeks include Newry Street, Emu Street, Daydream Street, Great Keppel Crescent and Carlisle Circuit.

Residents are reminded to contact police immediately if they observe anything suspicious. In an emergency, call Tripe Zero (000).
