Government accused of cover-up over Mason's death

The Queensland opposition isn't happy with a government decision to delay releasing the full report into the death of toddler Mason Jet Lee, accusing the government of a cover-up.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has defended the decision because Director of Public Prosecutions Michael Byrne QC told cabinet it could prejudice the proceedings against the three people charged with Mason's June 2016 death, including his mother.

Opposition child safety spokeswoman Ros Bates says the decision stinks and yesterday's interim report which has been released tells them nothing about how government department's might have failed the little boy.
