A man and child are being rescued from Moreton Island after being bitten by a snake this morning.

Paramedics say the Volunteer Marine Rescue crew has been called in to collect the pair and take them to the mainland for treatment.

It is believed the little girl had the snake on her and the male adult was bitten as he tried to remove it at around 5.30am.

Both are reportedly in a stable condition.
