Cap on tickets to Woodford Festival announced

woodford

It's hoped the introduction of a car tax and a cap on ticket numbers will free-up some space at this year's Woodford Festival.

The six-day event is growing every year with more than 130,000 people attending last year.

Festival director Bill Hauritz says they've been forced to restrict numbers this year to take pressure off infrastructure.

"Last year we spent over $600,000 on infrastructure that's just catering for the bigger festival," he said.

"That puts a lot of pressure on the margin between what we earn and what we spend and we need to broaden that margin and start banking some money instead of breaking even."

Tickets go on sale today.
