Golf Clash - Review
Golf Clash is a real-time multiplayer game from Playdemic that can be highly addictive. The view of the ball and easy of use of controls make it so that anyone can pick it up and play with limited instruction and the ability to play against randoms or friends gives it real life.
The bright vibrant style sucks you in straight away and when you start wacking the golf ball up the fairway the limited banter between players using the 20 or so pre programmed emojis and words is a primitave but effective form of communication.
Leveling up your clubs is great fun when you are on a winning streak but as you inevitably hit losing streaks the lack of in game coins can be frustrating and leaves you hovering around the beginners level to try to rebuild.
The game does a fairly good job of matching skill levels for opponants, I've never really felt like someone is unbeatable, equally I don't remember really thrashing an opposition player either. It keeps the game fun and enjoyable with limited "rage quits".
If you loved playing the old "Leaderboard Golf" series on C64 and similar systems you'll love the simplicity of this title as well. It's easy to pick up for a quick game or even sit and binge on it for a few hours if you get a streak on.
Like all Freemium games though I do feel like buying stuff in the game is WAY OVERPRICED and in this case it is completely unneccissary as you can rise through the ranks and unlock great clubs just by playing the game.
Golf Clash on Android and IOS is a 4 out of 5
