Police and Emergency Service Games
In October the 16th Australasian Police and Emergency service Games will be held with more than 50 sports on offer.
The event was first held in 1984, founded with the intention of bringing Police Service personnel together under the common banner of sport.
The different sports will be contested at a number of venues across the Sunshine Coast, with the hub based at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
Dragon Boat racing, will be one of the events as well as stand-up paddle boarding both to be held on still and open water.
Surf lifesaving Queensland will hold a carnival on the wednesday at the Alex Surf Club.
One of the premium events to watch will be the triathlon which has a massive following on the Sunshine Coast. The event will be scheduled last in the games.
About half of the participants will come form around Queensland with the remainder from around the country, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
